Kibingo Washing Station was built in 1986 in the Kayanza province in the north of Burundi. The name 'Kibingo' comes from the Kirundi word urubingo which means 'reeds'. The station processes cherries from over 3500 local coffee farmers, all of whom farm at high altitudes around the region.

The culture of coffee farming in Burundi is heavily oriented toward farmer-education projects aimed at helping to improve the quality and quantity of the nation's production, and to provide the farmers with greater stability.

This sweet and syrupy coffee is perfect served black.
